Trolling motors for pontoons?

carlcmc

Question

I have a 20' pontoon with 23' toons. No trolling motor currently on it.

Do most people put a trolling motor on a pontoon? Is it effective for boat control like a regular boat? Is it better to mount in the front or back?

How much thrust should one get?

carl. i thnk we talked about this a long time ago. if i remember right you have basically two options. either bass pro or cabelas carries a trolling motor that bolts to the front or you can install one that blots to the cavity plate of your outboard. del
