Food question

Will letting my 11 yr old springer eat the puppy food do anything bad to him? I let my dogs self feed so it's a little hard to police who is eating what. The vet told me just to make sure to feed the pup the puppy food until 1 year but we got side tracked talking about other things before I could remember to ask him the what if about the older dog. So far my 11yr old is really warming up to the pup. I'm happy about that. He also seems to have more energy which I'm not sure is due to the puppy food he's been getting or just having the pup around. Any feedback appreciated.

The puppy food is higher in protien and fat content to help your young one grow. That is probably why he has some more energy. It is not bad unless he starts getting fat.Lol
