Huskiedevle
With the newer Aquaview models having the fish shaped cameras at the end of the cable, I would like to know if those newer cameras could be hooked up to an older Aquaview unit.I have an older Aquaview Mc2x with a perfectly fine camera, but the new fish shaped one intrigues me. I would also like to know if the newer cameras make that much of difference to the fish versus the older ones. I did read about the Structure on a String, and that may well be an option instead of a newer camera. Any thoughts/opinions/facts out there? Jim Hudson
Huskie Truthfully, I do not think it will make much of difference to switch to a new housing. I have owned the old style and now a fish type housing and really havent seen that much of a difference. The new cameras will hook up to the older units, but my suggestion is.. if it aint broke.. dont fix it!! But if your looking for a whole new set-up, definately check out the spool series from Aqua Vu. I am quite impressed with the new color viewable spool series camera. One thing.. you see things in color... and another, it is easy to wrap up the cord with the easy wind up spool!! Now the structure on a string... I have yet to use it, but have talked to a few people who have and has worked for them on Upper Red Lake and certain other lakes. Where it shines is in lakes pretty much void of structure, where this man made structure pulls in some fish and can hold them for some time. It's always worth a shot!! newoodhntr
Check out aqua-vu's web site you can buy the fish decoy's for the older cameras for $19.99. You can maybe save some cash that way if you like the camera you have now. Newoodhntr
Huskiedevle
NE,That's what I am looking for.I will visit Aquaview's HSOforum.hanson,This is my first year with a Aquaview,so I have yet to really give it a go, down in the water with the fish.I just figured if they went with a new camera body maybe it was for the fish, but again, it could be just for the fisherman.Cabelas has the new camera/cable in their X-mas catalog for 234.00.Ouch! That's more than I paid for my Mc2x used.I really do not want to fork over that much just yet.
JP Z
NE and Huskiedevle,The fish decoys DON'T work on the old style rubber housings. But Aqua-Vu is working on a decoy that will work with the rubber housing and just go over that. Should see it in the spring.
Jim Hudson
jpzHe could still buy a new camera set-up (cord, camera, and decoy), and it will attach to the older receiver right?
