I made a two day trip up the gunflint trail and had good success despite the unpredictable winds and rain thurs. landed about 25 splake, biggest going 21 inches, about 15 bows, biggest going 23 inches and losing one even bigger, and one lake trout around 20 inches. After a day of catching 12-14 inch fish a few portages were neccessary and we got into some pigs!!! Big one's are back there if you are willing to do some work and exploring. Took the bows on various wet flies and nymphs and the splake and laker on cranks longlined behind the canoe.

Quickstrike, It sounds like you had an awsome time. I have been wanting to do some trout fishing in the BWCA for some time now. Hopefully next year. Thanks for sharing you adventures with us.
