Baked Pork Chops

Recommended Posts

Easy and tasty is the way to go smile.gif

I use a corning ware cassorole dish with cover. Salt and pepper and brown chops at 350 for 30-45 min. Add one can cream of mushroom soup and one can of water for another 15-30 min or meat is tender when stuck with a fork and falling off the bone.

or:

chops with dressing (like you have at Thanksgiving) in same dish at 350 60-90 min covered.

or:

chops with sauerkruat etc.....speaking of sauerkraut ...I will post one for a hot dish.

Enjoy cool.gif

These aren't baked, but they are awesome.

Creamy Slow Cooker Pork Chops (Good with skinless chicken pieces as well)

6 Center Cut Pork Chops ( or 1 whole cut up chicken, skin removed)

1/2 cup flour

Salt/pepper/garlic powder

3 tsp olive oil

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix

1 cup beef broth

3 tbls creamy horseradish (optional)

3 tbls sour cream (optional)

2 4oz can of mushrooms

1. Mix salt, pepper and garlic powder into flour. Dredge pork chops in flour and brown in olive oil.

(If using chicken, no need for this step)

2. Mix remaining ingredients in large bowl. Layer sauce, chops, and sauce in crock pot and cook

for 7 - 8 hours or high for 5 hours.

Leaky

Just tried your recipe. It really turned out great. I love using the crock pot and am always looking for new recipes that are simple to make without all the exotic type ingredients that I have never heard about.

I plan on trying it again soon but will try it with boneless skinless chicken breasts.

By the way when I made it I added a little more broth, and when it was done spooned it over some pasta. --- Thanks for the recipe ---

Moderation - I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for letting me know. One thing I should have mentioned in the recipe is that I usually add the sour cream and horseradish sauce right at end. Sauce is also good over garlic mashed potatos.

    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.

    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
