Chad Holst
Not arguing with you guys...just trying to tell you there were suits there for $100. They had a large sign up, it was for the jacket and the bibs.big logo across the back. Red/black suit.No discount for our group or for large purchase. Infact, Lucas told us we had to pay the $100 show price if we got them that day, but could get a better deal if we waited and ordered everyones together as part of the sponsorship. Im not 100% sure if it said strike master or ice force on the back but im 99% sure it was Strike Master. Was anyone at the Blain ice show? it is the exact set up they had at that show. Same thing as what Reeds did for their red/black Ice Armour Suits. They are reed specific suits. Thinner jacket. Not as warm as a blue or grey suit. Sold us suits at the blain show for $100. pants and jacket together. They had some left at the st.paul show, but only small and 2XL. He was going to get back to us when they got to walker, but then we got the sponsorship from Ice Force, so now we are going to be using their suits. I would guess the same thing will be in Wassau this weekend.
castmaster
You folks are talking about different suits. The standard Blue/Black, Grey/Black and Red/Grey(womens & youth) aren't what Sirlips is talking about. There was a red/black suit which is lighter weight which was sold through limited retailers (I hadn't heard it was a Reeds exclusive). I only took a very brief look at them but they seemed to be maybe half the weight/thickness (whatever you'd want to call it) of the blue/black suit.Reeds has them on sale now for $149.99 for the full suit.http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=28454
Chad Holst
thats the one castmaster. its not a reeds exclusive per say, but it was for specific retailers, yes. We got the extra 50 bucks off, so they could meet the price strikemaster had on their suit. Which was my point of bringing up the reeds suits. The jacket is a bit thinner, which is nice for those of us that sweat in our edge suits. The bibbs may be a little thinner, but i couldn't really tell on the bibbs. The strikeMaster suit was thicker than the ice armour suit. fisherman-andy
We know exactly what Sirlips is talking about. The red/blue Ice Armors do sell for around $150+; their generally $200+ retail, listed $299. Reeds always have a slew of non insulated red and blue ice armor suits at the end of season for clearance cheap. If they do have some sort of insulation its very minimal and you will have to layer up on these suits; hence the cheaper prices. Arctic Armors $250+ at the show. Um, not true, they were selling the suits at the strike master booth for $100. The same as the Blain ice show. Without any further misunderstanding; Sirlips is claiming they paid $100 for the Strikemaster suit. The sign at the show at the Ice Force booth cleary has the Strikemaster Parka listed for $99 and the bibs $99. Making them about $200. This is what we are talking about. I have never ever seen the Strikemaster suit being sold for $100, not even in the past shows. I hope this clears the confusion. If it was being sold to Sirlips for $100; then it must've group buy or sponsorship. Or he has them mixed up with the Ice Armor suit brand and prices. Thank you. fisherman-andy
My apologies! No apologies needed to anyone. I just wanted to clear up any confusion so that those who are going in to get a Strikemaster suit from Ice Force booth dont get mislead at the next ice show. Regardless it still a good deal. Chad Holst
Thanks for the post fisherman-andy.To clarify, so that people dont get misled on the post about reeds ice armour suits. they are insulated suits, just not as thick as the edge suits. I really couldnt tell the difference between the bibbs of the edge suit and the bibbs of the lighter suit. The jacket is noticeably lighter, but i wouldnt call it unisulated. it would be a great all winter jacket with a sweatshirt under it. Im seriously starting to wonder if im going senile. I could swear the strikemaster suit was 99.00 for the whole darn suit. now i feel like a jerk, as lucas told me i could get the suits for $100 at the show, but if i worked out something after the show, we could get a better deal. I didnt even realize that he already was knocking off the price by an extra 50%! Wow. I am really glad that you pointed this out. I must have seen the sign for $100 and thought it was for the entire suit, which is crazy cheap already. then when he offered to sell them for $100 now or wait for a better deal i thought..i'll wait.Thank you for your post Andy.
