311Hemi
It's actually not all that sweet."In the Foot Hills area, which already has about 30 miles of designated trails, officials proposed to designate 60 miles of roads and trails as open to all motorized vehicles and 44 miles for off-highway vehicles. Those areas would be signed for motorized use, and all other corridors -- about 170 miles of existing trails on state and adjacent county land -- would be off-limits to driving."***A post from a friend on a another off-road forum:"Yeah, that does suck! I've been going up to the Foothills State Forrest for over 20 years. That 170 miles that there taking away consists of some really nice wheelin trails and hill climbs. We dont have many trails for us in the state, so it really sucks to loose what You allready have."They are making it sound like this is a good thing, when in actuality they are taking some land away.....***One more post from another friend on the board:"That's exactly what happened. What that basically says is here's 170 miles out of thousands of miles of trail that you can drive on. And all of it is just forest roads. No real trails to speak of. This is a very bad thing, not a good thing in the slightest. Anybody who wants to find out more or get involved: MN4WDA Land Use Meetings are the third Monday of every month at 7:30 at the Golden Valley VFW.
