Summer/winter kill

Gus

Recommended Posts

Last summer I didn't water as much as I should and I think I have some kill because of it. Grass is grey, not brown. Nothing greening up right now.

Should I give it time, or do I need to start over?

The spots are not huge, maybe a few yards square and some smaller ones, but of course it's right in the front yard.

Without seeing the spots or pictures, I would guess it is snow mold.

You can try to lightly rake up the spots to kinda fluff them up and get air to the roots. I use a back pack blower. Then putting down some fertilizer should help recovery.

+1 hotrod. Sounds like snowmold but could just be ice damage as well. Try what rod said and if that doesn't work it is prob ice damage. Then you'd need to cut up dead sod and fill/seed it. Good Luck!
