Carpet vs vinyl flooring in boat

My boat is starting to show its age a bit-- Crestliner FishHawk. Looking at replacing the carpet due to wear. Anyone have any thought on vinyl vs carpet on the floor anyway. I'd keep the casting deck carpeted I would think, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

Once we rehabbed the first boat with vinyl (cause we would use it for duck hunting) I ended up liking it, and rehabbed a pontoon and another boat with it, and special ordered a new pontoon (fancy one too) with vinyl flooring at extra cost. Vinyl is the way to go, and while I didn't get it, vinyl flooring with snap in carpet is the ticket! Best of both worlds. But I know this, I will never own a boat/pontoon again that doesn't have vinyl flooring. Just my two cents. Good luck!
