Jmeyers
Just finished up a build last night I am pleased with, the only trouble I had was keeping the epoxy I put on my wooden handle smooth. After playing with it for some time I got it to a point where it was manageable but it still wasn't perfect and it had a few pumps in it...I think they were created from air bubbles but not to sure. Do you guys prepare your wooden handles someway before throwing the epoxy finish on there? I know some use a super glue finish..is this the way to go? - Thanks
upnorth
I use spar varnish myself. Floor grade poly urethane would work too. To me thread epoxy is to finish thread(that is what they formulate it for) not wood. And 5 minute, 30 minute etc epoxy is a bonding agent not a finish.
