why wouldn't they be? I have seen them on boats before.

They are illegal in vehicles, so I'm sure he was wondering if the same rules apply.

I've seen them on sheriff boats on the St Croix and they are popular on the center console boats like Valv posted. Don't know if they're legal or not but I don't see the harm in using one. They would help tremendously for back trolling with the main motor.

I see the point, I am sure they are not safe on vehicles in case of a collision, even though I've seen plenty of big trucks with them on, in fact they sell them at some truck stops

I believe the John Deere are $ 9.99 new in the box.
