Normally once September hits my focus shifts to archery, grouse and pheasant hunting, but I am pulling myself away to do one more trip to the Brainerd area over the First 4 days of October. Is this early for the great fall bite, too late, whats your thoughts?

If I wasn't out of town for the first week of Oct. for my fifth anniversary with my wife, I'd probably be the guy in the other boat!

In Cold Spring, last year, the bite actually started the last couple weekends of Sept. It got cold and real crappy out and I found them mostly in the areas with current on small spinnerbaits. So fun.

Early October should be great! I'm hoping mid-October will still be ok too.
