Trolling motor help?

LaVoi

Question

I am in need of some help, I have a Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 that runs on a 24 volt system. Last week I was on the water and it was working just fine. I disconnected one of the batteries to hook up my depth finder. After I tightened the connections back down I had no trolling motor but the depth finder had juice. I tinkered with it and found that it will run on 12 volts but as soon as I hook it back up to 24 volts I lose all power to the trolling motor. I know it is not a trolling motor issue as I had a spare motor that I hooked up and it acted in the same manner. I checked the fuses and they looked fine. Can anyone share some insight on what's going on? Thanks.

id venture a guess as it being a connection issue, meaning check all terminal connections, look for any sign of corosion, replace any suspect looking connectors, check if you have the correct voltage at the motor, that should get you in the right direction.

good luck,

mike.
