Recommended Posts

Ok Guys - We're fishing ice-out Lakers, give me your best tips! Thoughts, comments, methods, presentations, etc..... Ice came off the lake yesterday, very clear lake.

I've got my own ideas just like to hear some of yours.

Thanks in advance,

HB

I like to long-line troll #13 Rapalas Blue/Silver is my best producer in clear water and Flo Orange is great early and late in the day.

If they are suspended I drop a 1/2oz. Little Cleo on top of them and rip-jig it right in their face--they will smack it on the drop.

I've caught them shallow on structure this time of year. One day, for example, I was casting cranks over a sunken island on opening day on a northern MN lake and the biggest Laker I have ever seen followed the lure to the boat. Kinda looked like a shark at first! smile.gif

HB,

Looks like we should have picked up some #13 Raps last weekend, huh?

Thanks for the info, folks. Can't wait to be on the water.....no matter what the weather brings.

Good luck!
