Looking for a hunting partner / buddy

Hello,

I am new to hunting, I just got my firearms safety last April but do not know where / how to hunt. I do have a 12 gauge and a .22. I live in Mankato, MN and have heard that there are lot of good land around here. It would be nice to have someone to hunt with. My friends are not into hunting.

So how old are you?

If you are under 18 there are opportunities to go with a mentored hunt for pheasants, deer, etc... MN DNR site lists some of these.

If you are older, try volunteering through PF, DU, etc... and hopefully you will meet one or two people that you can start hunting with.

I would definitely post a little bit more about yourself on here for a better response. It make a few more people a bit more secure and jump at a response.. But nice suggestions brittman! All good suggestions.

You could also join some type of club, even a shooting league. Youd meet lots of people who would gladly share with you!

Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited, both work on land conservation for the birds

I dont do much upland hunting in Minnesota Do most of hunting in Iowa.
