lakers near Grand Rapids

I'm heading up to Grand Rapids the weekend of the 18th and was wondering of any lakes to hit nearby that have lake trout. Thanks

pokegama, but I don't know were to start. look for any structure next to deep water.
I believe trout lake north on GR has lakers.

If it's still on the shelf, pick up the latest edition of Minnesota Sportsman. The right issue will have a northern on the cover. Ben Kellin, who owns Ben's Bait in Grand Rapids has some awesome pointers in there for chasing laker's in the Grand Rapids area. If you wanna chase rainbows or splake, check through the posts here, I gave some good info on icing these fish.

Tried trout lake(near wabana) and was skunked. Threw the tackle box at em but no takers. Had "some" fun(it was @#$$ing cold) and soaked up some awesome scenery trying to get one. I will give the lake another try in a few weeks.
