Fish&Fowl
I have a '96 Silverado with a burnt out low beam bulb. Looks like there is a lot of stuff in the way of getting to the bulb. It looks like the best thing might be to pop the grill off. Any advice?
Shorelunch
Most Silverado's have you pop open the hood and replace it from there. If you have an owner's manual, they do a good job of taking you through the steps.
Shack
Some models of vehicles have a couple black pull tabs on the top of each headlamp assemblies. Pull up on the black tabs and slide headlamp housing out the front. Replace the bulb and then reinstall housing and push back down on the black tabs. Some of the most horrible looking headlamp bulbs to be replaced can turn out to be only minutes. Jeremy airjer W
This particular year can have either composite or sealed beam headlamps. If they are composite that you will be able to access the bulb on the backside, sometimes the battery has to be removed to gain access. If it is a sealed beam than the chrome trim will need to be removed in order to gain access to the four screws that hold the bezel into place. Shack
Airjer beat me to it. Looking around on the net, my above suggestion is not going to apply.
Macgyver55
That particular one has 2 small hex heads that stick straight upvery close to the front of the grille. You have to open the hood to remove them. Take those two out and the assembly will pull straight out. I have had a problem with a couple that the bolts have never been out of and they were seized. Otherwise its a snap!
