Looking for info on Babbit or pike sandy wheels Would like some pics, if anyone could please post.Looking to portage a 12' boat about a mile. Thanks in advance. Rat

How's the trail? Portage wheels are great until the trail gets rough. I had one made out of an old pair of wheelchair wheels that works pretty well, and much less expensive that a store bought one.

The trail is pretty easy going with one spot being a little tricky up hill and medium sized boulders

There is a man named Warren Marolt. He makes the Babbit Portage Wheels. I don't have any pictures but they are the sweetest wheels I have ever used. His number is in the Virginia, MN phone book.

Ok will it handle a 12 foot boat with nothing in it but the motor and cooler and some fishing poles and tackle boxes we have those wheels out of cabelas but the are kind of flimsy and dont hold much weight at all thanks for the heads up i will look up his number when im up there registering for school

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. We had them on a 14', 16' and a Grumman Sport Boat. Works like a dream. The rims and tires were from the front wheels of motorcycles
