Jiffy wont run.

Dozer

Question

My Father has a 3 horse Jiffy that he bought new about 20 years ago. It has never run right had carb rebuild once replace entire ignition and recently replaced whole carb. We are pretty mechanicly inclined people but still isnt right. He took it in a couple times and still isnt right. He had enought a couple weeks ago and bought a strikemaster. On monday my strikemaster blew up so I borrowed his Jiffy till I get a new one. I used it last night and it need some serious attention! It starts great 1st or second pull but thats about all it does good! If you let it warm up it will want to die once in a while just at random like you shut the switch off. After its warmed up it acts like it is only getting half throttle. Just wont rev up. You can push right on the leaver on the carb and doesnt change. I just got it tues so I havent really worked on it yet. I dont think it is as simple as just adjusting the carb but I didnt have time to play with that last night.

the slightest movement with tunning the carb could do it. On our jiffy you could get it running but then when you started to drill hole it would die. After tinking with it for a while i finaly got it just right and now it will just rip threw the ice. I believe its faster then any stock strikemaster, atleast that is what i am told.
