How to deep Fishtrap houses from "flapping" in the wind?

Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep a Fishtrap Guide (2 man) portable house from having the door flap up and down in the wind (this is the older style with the one piece door, not the zipper front)? I laid my chipper bar on one side and it helped a little, but it lifted 8"-10" off the ice and stayed there most of the time in 15 mph-20 mph winds.

Two things will help.

1- Remove the "V" channel holding the tarp to the sled & Re-stretch your tarp, they tend to relax after time.

2- Insert a light chain (No log chain) into the channel at the bottom of the drop tarp, then tack it every 6" with a leather needle and some FireLine. This will keep the chain from balling up when you fold it for travel. This will also keep the tarp taunt to the ice and limit flapping. The FireLine will not rot like cotton thread and will last a few years easily. (A big benefit to this method is you can fold up the tarp easily and you will not have stiff waterlogged wood rotting your tarp bottom.)

After you do this you will wish to re-stretch the tarp and secure the channel back to the sled. This will keep the tarp as tight as your going to get it.

Hope this helps.
