fishchaser
A friend and I are looking at going on a camping trip before we head off to school this fall. We are looking at mainly fishing and camping. We would like a smaller lake that we don't have to worry about wind, but the fishing is good(walleye, norhtern, bass). We want something that is secluded, calm, not over crowded... we're just a couple college guys who wanna have fun... does anyone have ideas on any good fishing lakes that have camping? Showers are a plus. Thanks in advance!

fishchaser
I'm in SE MN - near Rochestor. We would be willing to travel almost anywhere south of Bemidji area if we're guarenteed a good time. Even if the fishing isn't hot we'll most likely enjoy ourselves. ThanksFishchaser
IFallsRon
State parks are a good place to start. I've always liked Lake Bemidji. There's a variety of fish and the campground is nice. Check out the Park Rapids forum for information about Itasca State Park fishing. Another favorite is Scenic State Park, about 30 miles north of Grand Rapids. There are several multi-species lakes nearby (there's a big boat dock near one of the campgrounds) and it's pretty secluded. Nice swimming beach, too. There's two state parks at Mille Lacs that will get you to the big lake. You can get more info at the DNR site.

HutchBucks
Check out Twilight Acres on Big Lake south of Richmond. $6 per person/night camping. It's a smaller lake and there's always something biting! I would know...I've got a seasonal there. Oh yeah...they got showers, too.
