I need some advice...

I'm hitting Mille Lacs later this week, and have never fished it this deep in the year before. I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers. Like best part of the lake, what's going lure-wise, how it's been lately ,etc.,etc.,etc...

I was thinking about the south-southeast part of the lake. Wahkon over to Vineland and all in-between. But, a recent conversaion led me to believe maybe I should hit the north end.

Please any info would be wonderful.

Welcome to the Fishing Minnesota Family. I figured the world's greatest fisherman would already know how to fish Mille Lacs...just playing with ya wink.gif

I have never fished muskies there but there are plenty of people on this site that have. Hopefully they will chime in and share some general knowledge to help you out. Otherwise you can do a search for Mille Lacs and that will give you a great start.

Good luck

I've actually been part of the site for 3 or 4 years now. I just switched jobs and all my former account info was on my old work computer, so I'm starting new. But, I certianly appreciate the welcome.

Take a look at the "Presentations for Fall Pattern Muskies" post on page 2 of this category. I know Jon fishes Mille Lacs, so his posts should help on the lure choices, not sure about the location suggestions though.

I think they are scattering right now. I seem to see fish in a few places that usaully don't hold fish until later. I still like the weeds on Mille Lacs late; the scrub weeds die off and the taller stronger ones hang in for awhile longer making a "more open" weed line.
