Not at all. The RX7's are great blanks and they're a great value. If you need a blank that is medium/fast action then they're the blank you want. If you want something that's a little faster then the RX8 is the answer.

good I personally like a fast action rod however fell in love with a sage xp 9foot 4wt , unfortanatly that type of rod isnt in my budget

also I do not get to fish as much as fly fish as much as Id like and when I do a usaully small stream trout which i have been using a scott SAS 905 which I am considering selling and building a shorter rod n a 3 or 4 .

I have a gentlemen I work with that is a dry fly purist and the build is for him he is an ocassional southern mn trout fisherman.He has a 7' 3Wt and 9'6 wt. and comsidering a 8' 4wt Rx7. which is what I am considering as well. and also a 7'3WT
