In the Walden area there are 4 lakes, Delaney Butte (East, South, & North) the North lake has huge Browns. The 4th is Lake John which has good size rainbows. The area also has miles and miles of stream fishing with lots of public access. Around Steamboat you have the Yampa river which runs thru town. The highway runs along this river upstream quite a ways with several areas where you can raft it. Besides trout it also has big smallies and pike. A couple of lakes outside of town are Steamboat & Stagecoach. Stagecoach has the current state record for pike.

If / When you get to town, you might want to stop off and visit Dave at the North Park Inn & Suites, he can probably give you a good chunk of info on things to do around the area in the summer time. I believe there is a Fly Fishing shop in Walden too, one of the gas stations downtown has fishing tackle in it and if one of the Corkle boys still own it, he's good to talk to too, he does the Snowmobiling, ATV and Off Road recreating in that area and will probably tell you just about anything you want to know.

Lots of areas to go around there, Big Creek Lakes is northwest of town, we hunt Mule Deer and Elk up that way, there is a campground at the lake too. If you go to youtube and search for Walden Sand Dunes you'll find some videos on that.
