Crosby/Ironton Mines

We just got a new place in the Crosby/Ironton area and I was hoping to try fishing some of the old mine pits in the area for trout.

I know people are cautious about their "hot spots", so I don't want any advice on which mines to fish or anything like that...

My problem is that I have never caught trout out of a lake before, so I have no idea what baits (I know that minnows are illegal in these lakes) to use or what depths to fish.

Any advice would be helpful. Even the most basic help would be great... I would be excited as can-be even if I were to catch one or two small ones.

I troll Raps on portsmouth size 4. Lime green blue/silver and Black and silver seem to work the best. Some guys drag spinners tipped with an angle worm that also works. Good luck out there.

Worm & a slip bobber start at depths from 10-20ft of water all the pits are a blast! Going barbless makes it easier to release most fish.
