  1. Good idea. I'll try that. Thanks for the reply.
  2. I have a bilge pump problem that has been driving me nuts for years. I have explained it to two different dealerships, and they look at me like I am from another planet. I have a Mayfair (Johnson) 500 GPH cartridge bilge pump mounted in the bottom of my Lund 1675 Explorer. This is the boat’s original configuration. I also have a water sensing switch installed so it will run automatically. When the boat was about a year old, I started having problems with the pump. The pump will run, but will not pump water. I have replaced the cartridge. I have replaced the entire pump. It seems to have some sort of air lock. I have found that if the pump is completely submerged, and I crack the top open a tiny amount while it is running, water will flood in from the top and it will start pumping water. Once it has started pumping water, it will work fine for days until it dries out completely. The drain hose looks fine. I don’t see any problems or restrictions. Any ideas?
  3. Quote: My dad had the exact same problem a month ago. He ran fdisk which fixed a few things that allowed him to boot up normally. He then backed up anything that he didn't have already saved on disk but he was lucky he got that far. About a week later it finally gave up and a new hard drive later he was back in business. Running fdisk will erase all data from the drive!!
  4. I got the smaller one so it would work with my wench.
  5. Quote: I have a question on the Richter anchor. Will it work in my anchor wench? My wife can use ours just fine.
  6. Had the same problem with my boat's radio. It is a Sony and you have to hold the power off button for 5 seconds for it to completely power off.
  7. This thread might help. http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=770952&page=9&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
  8. See this thread. Seems like a common problem. http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=770952&page=9&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
  9. When battery casings were made of rubber, they would discharge sitting on concrete. This does not apply anymore.
  10. This one is a little easier to understand. http://boats.net/cgi-local/listings.pl?type=form&stype=motor
  11. The last digit of the model number is the model year. N = 1984 K = 1985 J = 1986 H = 1987 G = 1989 F = 1989 O = 1990 P = 1991 Q = 1992 R = 1993 S = 1994 T = 1995 U = 1996 V = 1997 W = 1998 X = 1999 Y = 2000 Z = 2001 A = 2002 B = 2003 C = 2004 D = 2005
  12. I'm pretty sure Minn Kota batteries are rebranded Trojans.
  13. I had the line that runs to the front livewell plugged with sand once. I blew it out the back of the boat from inside the livewell with a garden hose.
  14. Quote: I have now broken my second trim cam. Where did you order those cams? That's a good price. I believe the first cam was sold to me by a dealer for about $15!...or do you want to sell me one? From what I have heard, I will need all three cams eventually. If you do order them online, I would be grateful if you picked up a couple extra screws. I would be happy to buy them off of you.
