  1. What do you guys want? To be able to take a trophy every year?! Thats what makes a trophy buck so great, is that they are RARE!! If you started shooting them every year you would B*%$@h about something else.
  2. My guess is the DNR is happy with the deer population as it is. They dont want to take heat from land owners about their fields or gardens being eaten or from people complaining about the amount hit on the road. Also FYI, the DNR doesnt care what you think. There is big bucks to be had out there, but they are not Gimme deer, they take a lot of time. As soon as I started putting more time and effort into my hunting it was amazing how many bigger deer I started seeing. I do not judge anyone for what kind of deer they choose to take and I dont expect to be judged either. 4 years ago I shot a wall hanger after I started putting more effort into it like I stated above, it was a great expierence and I hope to do it again. Well after passing up small ones for 4 years, I started to get hungry for venison again so I decided I would take a small buck if I had the chance. I am not able to hunt my old spot anymore and had no idea what to expect of this new spot so I shot a ugly basket 6 pointer at 7:45 am saturday. I will set up this new spot moving forward and will probably pass on small ones for a few years again but it seems to me, you get out what you put in to it. All the people that I know that shoot big bucks spend a lot of time in the woods prior to hunting and I understand that not everyone is able to do that but that seems to me in my expierence to be what it takes. I am not complaining about the deer population. If there is no deer where you hunt, then try like the rest of us and find a different spot.
  3. I think the internet is causing people to talk about it more and thats why some think deer hunting isnt so good. You always hear more bad news than good news. Most people are happy to see 2 deer in a weekend! Deer hunting in MN is pretty good but the TV shows are creating unrealistic expectations. Also, who ever it was that said that we dont have great Walleye fishing needs to take a trip to Northern MN. Again, the TV shows are causing unrealistic expectations. The TV shows dont show/tell you about how many hours were spent when nothing was happening. Maybe I just dont know any better. I dont claim to be a elite outdoorsman but I usually bag a deer most years and never get skunked when I go fishing unless the weather holds me back. Its called Fishing, not catching and Hunting, not harvesting. Its not a gaurantee and the struggles make us better sportsman.
  4. Put some fresh gas in the tank and then take your air compressor and put your hand over the gas tank filler and blow air in the tank with your air nozzle under your hand to push fuel into the fuel pump/carbs. Thats how we always did it when setting up new sleds that didnt have any fuel in the system, works well. Make sure you make a good seal around the air nozzle and tank filler with your hand. Maybe some new plugs if you fogged the engine also.

It wasnt what I was hoping for either, but the 49ers couldnt get anything going until what, the 3rd drive? What was their QB 1/7 to start? And they went to the Super Bowl, so Id say their starters didnt look so hot either at first. And, the offensive line looked terrible. I'll reserve judgement until the regular season.

While I will agree, he hasnt looked so hot in preseason here, you all seem to have a short memory. He looked like an All Star against San Fran last year, had a great game against Houston and went drive for drive against arguably the best in the leauge in week 16. He had a slump in the middle of the year, but in the beginning and the end of last season he looked real good. If he can play like that this year, we're are sitting just fine in the QB department. He was just as good as Jay Cutler last year, compare their stats.
  7. Well, I hope for everyones sake to say years down the road that it turns out to be false. I dont look under my bed at night, but I do keep myself informed of whats going on in the bigger picture in this world besides peoples tax returns and birth certificates, unlike the majority of America.
  8. This is just one of many things we can start to be concerned about. It is a very real possibility and anyone that tells you it's not is misinformed. The conseqences of this election are far deeper on many fronts than most people want to believe.
  9. Man! If I could only figure out a way to make a living pay for it up there (and of course sell my house here)....looks like the perfect spot/place for me! Good luck, who ever buys that place look sto be getting one heck of a deal!
  10. I like the Trophy Rocks. I have them out all year long. Add some apple flavored Buck Jam to a rotten log works well for me as well as White Tail Institute 30-06 mixed in the dirt.
  11. Didnt do much for me the times I tried it, but that doesnt mean much.... Apple flavored Buck Jam is my favorite, that and White tail institute 30-06. My trail camera shows more activity with those as opposed to C'mere deer. I am sure every area is different though.
