  1. I have been shooting all my 3D shoots this year in Wis. and would like to know if there are any shoots here in Mn. 3D shooters please speak up. It's been a few 10 years since I have shot alot of 3D's, but back then there were a bunch here in MN. It would be nice to not drive 200 miles to a shoot.
  2. How much are you guys putting down on your first baiting? How much will it take to start pulling them in? We have 4 55 gallon barrels of candy, and am debating on getting more.
  3. My Polaris 700 started last weekend in -19 no problem, it started first turn of the key, idled a little slow then rolled right into a perfect idle.

    HOP UPS?

I have an 06 Polaris 700EFI, and so do a few of my buddies, is there anything I can do to make it quicker than theirs? Are there any chips available like there are on trucks to boost horsepower and torque?
  5. Any suggestions on an auger rack for a sportsman that would collapse or quick disconnect so it wouldnt get in the way of a travel cover? I picked up a Mad Dog auger rack, but dont think its gonna work, the forked end for the bit sticks up too high to fit the travel cover.
  6. could u send me info on the make of the house please
  7. What size wheelhouses are you guys moving with your wheelers? Just purchased a sportsman 700 and was wondering how big of a house i could move with it, I plan on building one this summer.

    Travel covers

looking to purchase a travel cover for an 06 700 sportsman. Any suggestions on good covers to keep most of the road spray off the machine?
  9. I also had an excellent experience with ron, when i bought my empire direct vent furnace he went through all the wiring and shortcuts he had. I was installing it and had a question, i called him and he talked me through it, thumbs up to him!
  10. I just was up checking on my permanent shack on MilleLacs and had a hard time getting the key to work the lock properly, Any suggestions on lube or sprays that will not freeze? It has never been a problem before, but just want to make sure it's ok before its on the ice.
  11. I built a 10x20 last year with steel skids. The skids i put on are 4x4 x 24', I purchased them from the owner of the resort on Millelacs. I also used 2x6 for the floor joists, topped it with 5/8" marine grade plywood then put down 1" rigid foam insulation topped with 3'8" marine plywood. I did reinforce the center main walking areas, but it is solid as heck and nice and warm. Any questions give me a shout and I would love to help you out. conraddjak@aol.com

  13. what degree transducer are you using? If you have a 12 or even 9 degree this will happen. I just bought a new 8se and i have my gain turned down to 0 and the jigs show up as a real wide green band but i am using a 12 degree ducer. I bought an S cable which is supposed to cut the power in half and should help.
  14. I didn't think they were out and about this time of year eather, until last weekend we saw 1 on camera swimming around in Mille Lacs.
  15. Just returned from the big pond and had some problems with my LX 3. It almost appeared like there was some interfearance, but the whole display including the bottom was blinking, and there were marks all through the water column that were blinking at the same time. Im hoping that a new ducer will solve this. It got to the point that i couldn't even pick up my jig at all unless i turned the gain way up, which i have never had to do before. Any suggestions? I have a new battery and it is fully charged, so I know it is not that.

  17. My house is only 1 year old and the vinyl siding is holding up great, I had it moved 5 times last year, which is alot of banking and unbanking. One suggestion if you are going with vinyl, use a treated plywood ripper of at least 12" on the bottom, this will keep most of the banking on the plywood and not on the vinyl. If the banking melts and refreezes its too easy to smack it with a shovel and crack it. I only have one spot where mine cracked last year and that it where I hit it with the jack, other than that vinyl should hold up just fine. I did wrap the house after i sheathed it, I used tyvek home wrap. I thought about going with a steel siding but I would think that there would be a pretty good chance that there would be condensation forming some where on the inside of that stuff, maybe im wrong. Drop me an email we can talk houses, I live in Albertville. conraddjak@aol.com
  18. I just built a 10 x 20 last winter and have it on MilleLacs. I went with steel skids, 2 x 6 flooring, rigid foam insulation in the floor, bats on the walls and ceiling. Vinyl siding, vinyl windows, 36" outswing door, tongue and groove interior, berber carpet, gas lights and recessed 12 volt lights, indoor crapper, 2 bunks and a futon couch. Drop me an E-mail and we can talk, or swing over and i can show you some pictures of the shack.
  19. My LX3 has a rather loud ticking sound to it, if I can hear it while in the water I would assume the fish can hear it also, any ideas or comments on this? Is there any evidence of the transducer noise affecting fish positively or negatively?
  20. The ceiling fan i have is a 12v 42" full size ceiling fan, with an infrared remote, it has 3 speeds and reverse, i run it on low, thats all that i need in my house. It draws 1/2 watt on low 1 watt on med. and 1 1/2 watt on high. If i run it on high it does make the gas lights flicker a little bit, and i dont like to feel the air moving around. E mail me and i will give you the name of the company where i purchased it.
  21. I built a 10 x 20 sleeper house this past summer/fall and the best thing i put in it was a 42" dc ceiling fan, draws very little juice, 1/2 watt on low. Worked very nice to keep the air circulating and the holes open. I ran it on a deep cycle battery along with my dome lights and porch light and never drained the battery even halfway down. I ran the fan on a vex battery for 3 days straight. The guy on the top bunk will appreciate it too.
  22. i have a 12 volt ceiling fan 42" that circulates the air, last weekend it was -20 on MilleLacs and i never had a hole freeze up at all, actually the holes opened up a bit on top. My house is 10 x 20 and well insulated, just bank it up good and you should be good to go. I tried the bucket thing and didnt work too good. Removed the buckets and let the warm air circulate under the house, the holes stay open and the floor stays warmer also. REMEMBER TO: CROSS THEIR EYES
  23. just wondering what everyone is using with their catch covers for sleeves. I tried a 5 gal. bucket but its a bit too small. I have a permanent house and it will not always be jacked up the same height every time, so spending $20 for the catch cover hole sleeves doesn't really interest me. Any suggestions? I know the people with the wheel houses can get the sleeves, cut them to the desired length and be good to go because the house is alway dropped down to the ice.
