I'm woking on a different colored Ice Buster Bobber already. But as far as the Jig Disks, It is areal good idea to hook up your plastics at home and test them out in a 5 gallon bucket of water beore you go out onto the lake. That way you know for sure that your little plastic tails or your bigger swimbaits work correctly. I've had More of a problem with Walleye wearing out my plastic swim bait paddle tails! I haven't had an issue of line twist yet and all I use is a cross lock snap for bigger jigs and spoons and a quick snap for panfish. You can find them at Thorne Bros in Blaine and a few other stores. If not buy them here or on my HSOforum. I didn't finish them in time for all of the Distributor Shows this Fall so they are not everywhere yet. Rule #1 is ----------HAVE FUN!!!!!! Bruce Mosher

I'm sure you can buy the Jig Disks on this site. If not your gong to have to go to Todays Tackle site. The Jig Disks come in 3 different sizes. Set them up on horizontal hanging jigs and it will make them swim and dart. Any verticle hanging Jigs and Spoons they will shimy shake on the drop and lift. If you are going for Walleye by a 2 or 3" swimbait with a paddle tail and then use a minnow head on the hook for scent. IT really attracts fish!IT's kind of like using a Chubby Darter. IT always attracts fish into the hole and most of the time they will bite. If not they are their to move over to your second rod that is set up hopefully with an Ice Buster Bobber and a minnow! Gander Mountain has a good white plastic swimbait that is Salt impregnated a 3" model, Cabela's has their Aquaglow "Hoochie Koochie" white plastic paddle tail that glows, Berkley has a good 3" Powerbait "Ripple Shad" swmbait in perch color. All of these have a paddle tail that works better than a tister tail. Put these straight on the hook, snap on the Jig Disk, ttach to the line with a cross lock snap and start catching fish. I've also caugt Blue Gill and Crappies with a Genz Bug and plastic tail using the smallest Jig Disk. I shimmy shakes on the drop. Bruce Mosher

Anyone using the new JIig Disks and catching Walleyes etc? I've been to my local lakes and Lake of the Woods having great luck using a red glow jig (1/4oz and 1/8 oz) with a small swimbait on the jig, minnow head on the hook for scent and the jig disk above it all to make them swim! Bruce Mosher

I talked to him at a show. He said to google it up. Once you do it all sorts of stuff pops up. Kind of confusing. You almost have to be a techno head to decipher it all. I'll have to check on it again. Thanks, Bruce Mosher

Does anyone have some good information on pruchasing some sort of a small portable DVR recorder (good quality) that I can plug into my new Marcum color underwater camera. I'd like to get some footage of my new Jig Disks with Walleye smacking them and put it onto my HSOforum etc.

On a couple of my tip ups I put a "Rubber Snubber" which is basically a 7" surigical tubing with about 50 lb test inside it with split rings on each end onto my line. That way when fighting a Big Fish it has a little more give on the head shakes. I lose less fish that way. Bruce Mosher

Otter Rod Box all the way!!! IT works great and protects my rods and reels. Finsandfeathers - Cool box you made. I especially like the ICe Busters on the top shelf!! Bruce Mosher

Thanks guys! Wait until you see me demonstrate the Jig Disks in a tank of water at the Ice Show!! Bruce Mosher

The Ice-Well is a great tool for Ice Fishing and Summer Fishing. In the Summer you can use it on your Chest Waders, Canoe, Dock, Little boats without a live well, Float tubes. It's better than a stringer. The smaller bag is a 7"diameter opening. If fins seem to be a problem in getting the fish out just cut along the seam on the top of the Ice-Well (vertically) about 3" down. Where the ends of the foam tube join together is a sewn seam. Just cut down from their. Now it will open up better and let the fish out. IT doesn't hurt the bag at all. You still have velcro on the top to close it up if you need to. After a couple nights of good fishing and the Ice-Well bag needs to be cleaned, I bring it to the local car wash and lay it on the floor and pressure wash it. Works good! Bruce Mosher

I'll post this again. I normally start off with my version of a lindy rig - The Foam Walker (self standing slipsinker) with a 4' leader of flouro carbon to a red hook with a piece of Ice Buster bobber foam pushed onto the hook (about 1/4" piece) for my floater hook. The foam keeps the bait off the bottom and my leech will fight against the foam which will be right in the strike zone. I can use stop and go techniques because the Foam Walker never tips over and my bait is always off the bottom. After slow trolling around my hot spots we always anchor up off a point towards evening and use the Wave Buster Bobbers (in about 6" to 7' of water) with a glow jig and leech for the evening bite. Can't wait!! Bruce Mosher

I usually tie all my own rigs. I use Fireline Crystal down to my Foam Walker (standing slip sinker)a red plastic bead, snap swivel, 8lb florocarbon leader - about 4 to 5 feet in length, red gamakatsu hook with a piece of my Ice Buster Bobber foam (almost 1/4" in length) pierced through the hook for a floater. This Foam Walker keeps my line off the bottom and the piece of foam keeps the hook with a leech up in the strike zone. Best slow mo rig out their. Sometimes I put a smile blade and 4 plastic beads in front of the red hook instead of using a metal spinner. The Smile Blades will spin at slower speeds and are alot lighter. When using a Smile Blade I then use up to 12-lb florocarbon leader. It has less twisting with a little heavier leader. Bruce Mosher

I always start off the spring Walleye opener with a Foam Walker-3/4oz slip sinker, plastic bead, snap swivel, 4 feet of flouro leader tied to a plain red hook with a piece of ice buster bobber foam (almost 1/4" piece) pierced through the hook for floatation and a nice Leech. This my friends is a killer rig! I've caught countless Walleyes with the Foam Walker. IT has more features and options than any other lindy rig on the market. I just got my boat and tackle box ready, and the rods will be next on the list. I can't wait for opener!!!!!! Bruce Mosher

Mozy, Take a look at my Tackle Pouches. www.todaystackle.com I have put many hooks and jigs etc in the Tackle pouches. They are clear bendable plastic with velcro. They also fit right into a plano tackle boxfor storage. You can put them in your pocket and even wrap (cover) your jigs on your rods to prevent tangling! The size (A) is the smallest which will accomodaye you. Bruce Mosher

The 7" Ice Buster Bobber is yellow. IT is the same Diam as the 5" bobber but longer. You can't do a flo. orange color in that small of a diameter. I've tried and the color looks sick. They would have to to dense of a foam to make it work. And deaceye, I will have a plastic piece for you if I can remember to bring it with to put on top of the bobber. We'll see if it will work. Ice Buster Bobbers: Real deal or gimmick?
Bruce Mosher replied to Cast Master's topic in Ice Fishing
Mn Hunter, I forgot to tell you I'll have the Wave Buster Bobbers with and the Ice-Well is definetly worth the money! I just ran out of the 9" Ice-Wells but I'll have plenty of the 7" for the 8" augers. Bruce Mosher -

Mn Hunter, I'll have plenty for ya! Bruce Mosher -
Just want to let everyone know that I made some 7" Ice Buster Bobbers to sell at the St Paul Ice Show. I will be in Thorne Bros. Booth. I've only produced 3" and 5" Ice Busters in the past. The reason for the 7" bobbers is that I've had quite a few people ask for a bigger bobber to hold up jigs in river current, larger spoons and bigger bait. You'll also be able to step further away from the hole and still see the bobber. Bruce Mosher

Ice Buster Bobbers: Real deal or gimmick?
Bruce Mosher replied to Cast Master's topic in Ice Fishing
I just want to tell you guys that I will be in Thorne Brothers Booth at the St Paul Ice Show and I will be selling for the first time 7" Ice Buster Bobbers. I have previously sold 3" and 5" Bobbers. These are made for guys using bigger spoons, larger jigs, and bigger bait. Alot of river guys told me to make a bigger bobber for the current. You will also be able to see these bobbers better from a distance from the hole. A 5 for $5.00 special to see how they do. Thanks again, Bruce Mosher -
Ice Buster Bobbers: Real deal or gimmick?
Bruce Mosher replied to Cast Master's topic in Ice Fishing
All I can say is THANK YOU for all the great replies!!! I put alot of thought into the Ice Buster Bobber. The best part was my first night out to test them. 1-1/2" of ice, I slipped onto Maple Lake. Pumped up the Coleman Lantern, Chipped two holes, checked my depth and put a sucker minnow on the first rod. I jigged the bobber 3 times and said to myself, these are going to work and then the Ice Buster went down. I let it be for about a minute and set the hook into a 12lb Walleye. It was awesome! Took two photos and released her. I always tell people to save the trimmed pieces for summer fishing. I put the Foam Walker (Standing Slip Sinker) on my line for slip rigging, followed by a 3' leader with a plain red hook and a piece of the bobber foam (pushed onto the hook) for a floater/attractor with a leech. This is one awesome rig. I've caught a lot of Walleyes doing this. If you stop your rig, The yellow foam will keep your bait up wiggling in the strike zone. Oh yeah, we are talking about the bobbers! Don't trim the bobber down until you have your jig and bait on. Then you can trim it for the maximum sensitivity you need. If the Crappies or Bluegills are biting very lite, trim it down enough so the bobber very slowly sinks down the hole. As it's sinking and the Bobber stops - Set The Hook! Fish on. Never use a plastic bead with Ice Busters. I made the slotted hole to act as a bead that lets your line zip through quicker. A plastic bead only freezes up and slows down the line to much. If you night fish you can poke a starter hole with a toothpick into the top of the Ice Buster and insert a 3mm glow stick for a few hours of great visibility. I read in one post that the Ice buster falls off in the summer. It will eventually. They wern't made for summer but I and alot of people use them. I made a summer bobber called the Wave Buster Bobber. It has a different bottom that wont let your line sneak out and it is weighted for further casts. IT is more visible and can also be trimmed down for smaller jigs and fish. I'm sorry I pulled a Rip Van Winkel and finally woke up to check out this great site. I've been a little busy lately. Now I need to hit the ice and do some Reasearch and Development. Sounds like a tough job doesn't it! Nothing funner than FIRST ICE!!! Thanks again everyone! Be safe on the ice, Bruce Mosher -
Looks to me like I could Drill Two holes on the edge of the Glide-Lite and place a Rod Rocker 2 for holding my rod!!! Looks like a nice unit. Bruce Mosher
-
I have to say that you have a pretty good idea here!! Cool, It's probably alot cheaper thatn the ones for sale now and the best part is that it adjust to any height!! Good Job, Bruce Mosher

If I'm fishing by myself in my 2-man portable, I will be jigging a spoon or whatever pretty aggressively in the main hole and I will have the Rod Rocker 2 set up on the edge of my tub in front of the second hole. Sometimes I have an Ice Buster Bobber on the second rod or I will have just the rod with the string tie knot (for the bobber) only on the line to give me a marker point to know when to click the bail and have the correct depth every time. But I always put the rod on my Rod Rocker 2 so I won't have to worry about losing the rod down the hole if a fish bites etc. The Rod Rocker 2 is a tip down holder so it gives the fish a few more inches of travel than a regular rod holder that doesn't move at all. IF the fish dictate that you need more distance before the hook is set the Ice Buster Bobbbers work great. I can give the fish more line with the bobber and then finally set the hook. Always seems to be a few different ways to look at a situation! Good Luck!! Bruce Mosher todaystackle.com
