  1. Bullinc, Do the poles hav a bend in them. I suspect the end part the slides on the inside is just a strait pole. Sportsman Warehouse or any place that has camping gear sells tent poles. I would start there and bring in the old one to see if you can match it up. They have 2-3 different kinds. Second choice would be to get a conduit pole that will fit inside and cut it the length you want. Then get the parts at said store above to make a locking snap. Hope this helps. Maybe I'm way off on what your talking about though.
  2. Smallies, Jr.'s situation was not the same. He did it to keep from going a lap down. I don't think it was right but he took the penalty and went to the end of the longest line which was better than that of prior to spinning out. Intentional cautions could happen under current rules if your team mate is going to get passed with 2 laps to go, than spin out and freeze his position, right? Green, white, checker one time only is a great way to finnish the race. 2 big concerns come up though. First, Fuel milage will ruin a first place drivers day when it happens. And secondly, they need to be able to race to the checker in order for it to be effective. If the feild is froze upon caution under new system, nothing has been fixed. Go DODGE Boys......
  3. I have one thats dead. Had it on the boat just over two years. I felt it held up pretty good. It was the cheaper one. 25 horse with 32# troller. I think I'm going to get the yellow one now unless I find or get talked into another one for about the same price. The price is deffinately worth it...
  4. Two things moose-hunter, First, the power of your mitre saw may not have the power to withstand a lot of cutting. It will take more time and you need to let the saw cool down. Secondly, most mitre saws have aluminum decks on them. The steel will wear on the surface pretty fast. If you can attatch a thin piece of plywood to the surface would help a lot. Good luck, I hope this helps ya....
  5. After a little riding this weekend (giving a 2yr old and a 5 yr old rides around the yard) I hear this clunking in the front end. After checking it out, it turns out the rt front shock is broke. Never hit anything, very light riding. The thing snapped right above the lower bolt mount spraying oil all over the a-arms and brake. Have others had this problem? Is it common on all models or just Yamaha's? It seems to have froze up cuz I cannot push the shock in at all. Needless to say a new one is $158.00. Found a used one for $40.00.
  6. Chucky C, Just started using the Hminbird Matrix 17 this weekend. I am so impressed with the unit. I can hook my garmin gps up to it and can track where ive drifted or trolled so I can try different lines. I know Hbirds were not so great years ago but eversince they bought out Zercom and acquired their engineers they are second to none in my book. Another great thing about Hbirds is that you can use your'e old zercom ducer. It should be the same connector. I'm using the old speed/temp sensor off of me Z160. Same plug in. E-mail me if want to know where I got mine for $164.00 shipped in 3 days. sdboatman@usfamily.net
  7. Irvingdog, Do you know where I can get Alumaloy? I've seen it on the infomercial but have not seen it in stores.
  8. I have a 97 merc 25. Absolutely love it. I have mine on a 14 foot Jon 1448. I can usually idle down to about 1.5 mph going forward but she's barely running. If I lift the motor to shallow setting it will go down to about 1 mph. One nice thing I've found on the motor is I really don't need to use the electric start if I need to conserve Battery for bow mount. Usually 2 pulls when cold and 1/4 pull the rest of the day is all it needs. Would certainly get another one if needed.
  9. You may want to put this in the equipment forum. I believe the number 1 key to radio's is output power. No matter what the package reads for how far it will reach, it can only go as far as it has the power for. Almost all gmrs radio's have an output power of 2 watts. I don't care if the package reads 7 miles, it won't reach 7 miles on 2 watts of power. You'll be lucky to get 3-4 miles. I would talk to the people at Radio Shack. They know a lot about radio's and should be able to set you up.
  10. We just switched to Dish-network from cable. I think the biggest difference your going to find is channel line up. On D-N I just ordered the outdoor ch. for $1.99 a month. Well worth the money. Make sure when you are looking at the channels don't be confused by OLN as the outdoor channel. They are not the same. OLN is nowhere near as good as outdoor Ch. It's about 40% fishing and also has ATV shows that are really good. I'm a big racing fan and love the Speed Ch which cable did not have unless I ordered the digital package. The reception of the dish is incredible and I don't have real nice T.V's. I'm sorry I can't give you info on the other one. On D-N you can order the NHL and NBA package that has all games being played on unless they are blacked out in area. Hope this helps. [This message has been edited by #Boater# (edited 02-09-2004).]
  11. Picked one up at a garage sale last summer for $10. It came with the manual and a some type of fishing assister that dials up type of fish/ weather/ etc. and give advise on where to look for fish. The box was convereted to 12 volt which the guy would plug in to his boat. He had outlets in his boat that were hooked up to his 12 volt battery. I had it for sale at my garage sale for $20 but I think I'll hold on to it now.
