south_metro_fish
Last year I found a 48" light action rod for cheap and decided to get it and try it out. I jigged with it last year for panfish and tried using it for setting up my dead stick rod. It worked for both pretty good but I think I read something about a rod that size being good for setting up a dead stick for walleyes. Is light action to light for this application. I was debating what # line to use on a rod like that. I have 4# and 6# p_line and was thinking of putting 4# on it for multipurpose, I was thinking the length and action of the rod would take some of weight off the line. TravP
If the rod has a decent backbone I don't see any problems. I like 4lb pline for walleyes.
