cut bait question?

do you guys always use cutbait or switch up to live bait, i have found cutbait to get alot of more hits this year on the mississippi then live, i use suckers and dont really have access to bullies, should I always cut the suckers. what do you guys think cats prefer, live sucker on the bottom---- or cut sucker on the bottom, thanks guys and good luck huntin kats!!

Flatheads generally prefer live baits. Not to say you won't hear of them getting caught on cut, but most of the time, live is the answer.

Channel cats will take either, but I would venture to say that more channel cats are taken on cut bait than live bait.

Flatheads perfer large live baits, but can be taken on cutbait every once in a while. Most people use cutbait to target channel cats. Channels will take the live suckers/bullheads as well. The last channel I caught took a bullhead.
