Mounting sonar

Any advice for mounting sonar on a kayak? Location for transducer, type etc

I use ram suction cup mounts and an arm transducer mount. Works well for me. I was even able to take the setup with me on a fly in trip and use it on the boat at the lake.

I've got a Humminbird 597ci on my kayak. I mounted the head unit on a RAM mount. My transducer sits off the back on a suction cup mount. There really wasn't anywhere to run the power or transducer cable so I stole one of the kids' pool noodles and velcroed it underneath the gunwale. Both cables run perfectly down the center of the noodle, plus it adds flotation as a bonus.
