While I have had a great summer of fishing, I was glad to break out the Ice Armor. Fishing was tough today. I was chasing gills on a bite that is usually over deep water; Especially this time of year. I found all my fish in 8-10 feet of water that had high milfoil mats and that was flat calm. The rest of the lake was hopping but one small cove was protected from the wind. The fish were sitting on the surface of the water catching all the rays. They were super spooky and not very aggressive. Water must be getting colder! Bring on the ice!

We fished yesterday, it was much warmer than today smile. The bite was slow for us as well. The water had stained up from the heavy wind and rain on Friday. We marked them over the deeper water but didn't get bite too much (shallow water we didn't see squat). A lot of short strikes too. Water was still 51 degrees, so it has a ways to go. Wont take long with the shorter days though.

Hoping for early ice. I still need one more decent day to get a finish coat on a boat I'm restoring. Wet sanded it today and decided one more coat is needed......too many hrs into this project........

I didn't even turn my graph on today to check the temperature. The fish came out feeling pretty cold though. I wish now that I would have looked. Rookie mistake! I heard last week from several trapper buddies that they were seeing up to 1/2" of ice.
