  1. Thanks for all the great replies. They help a lot.
  2. Yeah most of the tyees I've looked at have 90 - 120hp motors. I think they would be about the size I would like (16.5' - 17.5') Would a tyee be too large to tow well with a v6 grand cherokee or 4runner type vehicle?
  3. I'm looking for a mainly fishing, but sometimes skiing/tubing boat for the family. I'm looking to spend less than $10,000 on a used boat with at least a 75 hp motor which would be comfortable/safe on big water like Mille Lacs. I've been looking at the lund tyee (mid to late 1990s era). Can anyone who owns a tyee chime in on how they like the boat and how well it might tow with a midsize SUV? Other suggestions are welcome also. Thanks in advance.
  4. Arthritis isn't a difficult diagnosis to make. I don't know why your D.C. would say something like that. You should learn more about the education of doctors of chiropractic before disputing it. It is completely personnal choice who you'd like to see for your healthcare, but don't present opinion statements like they are fact.
  5. Same here. Mag 2000, 2008 model. About 6-10 pulls to start it cold. Sounds pretty normal for this auger. It always starts and runs well.
  6. It would be a good idea to see a specialist if you want some surgical options, but I would see someone such as a physical therapist or a chiropractor to be trained on some home exercises to strengthen your shoulders/ rotator cuff muscles. Often, a good strengthening program will relieve a lot of the symptoms of artritis. If you don't get relief from this after 6 mo. to a year, I would look further into surgery, if that is recommended. By the way fishinchicks, diagnosing and treating arthritis is a large part of a chiropractic practice. Chiropractors have much more education than MDs (other than radiologists) in reading x-rays and diagnosing/treating arthritis and other joint disorders. For a second opinion though, I would certainly consult an orthopedist or orthopedic surgeon.

    Dog lump

It would be a good idea to have a vet look at it. It may be a fatty tumor, but it could also be an infection that may require antibiotics. A friend of mine had a springer with a lump similar to what you describe that was due to an infection from a small scratch or poke from a stick.

    Joint Pain

I'll second the Rimadyl. It works well.
  9. Should really try to avoid chocolate for your dogs. Yes, in small quantities you won't notice any effects. You probably won't notice any effects if you give them a little gasoline either.
  10. I'm sure they taste ok, but as has been mentioned already, you are consuming a lot of mercury, PCBs and other stuff you would not want to come in contact with let alone swallow. Remember the mad hatter from Alice in Wonderland?
  11. I am looking into buying a new air compressor. I would like a compressor that can handle any kind of nail gun (finishing, roofing, framing) in the smallest possible package (due to my small garage). My question is: would a small 2-3 gallon compressor (100psi) work or would it be underpowered? This is not for professional work, just jobs around the house and the occasional (every few years) roofing job.

    cougar question

Maybe a bobcat, maybe a doe. Definately not a cougar with the short tail. The last frame that appears to have a long tail is the right rear leg.
  13. I have cleaned and eaten lake trout frozen for two weeks after being caught. No Problem.
