  1. For the last three years I have been fishing with Captain Brent Sloan. He has a HSOforum firststrikebass.com. I would suggest him to anyone.
  2. There are a couple of possible problems, one of them being normal belt wear and tear, as the belt frays there is more frcition between the belt and the pully's. Another may be the belt tension. Too loose or too tight and it will also squeal. Whatever the problem, get it fixed right away. When you belt goes, there is nothing to turn the water pump (keeps the engine cool) no power steering or alternator and maybe some others depending on the car itself. Good Luck...
  3. I have had great luck with my Natives (about 130). They come with 4 sets of polarized lenses in different colors and a lifetime guarentee on scratches. A huge jump in clearity through water over my old bolle's.
  4. I have a crestliner 1750 fishhawk, Yamaha F90, that I put a stainless on last year... Better hole shot, better top end, and lower rpm's than with the original prop. I tossed the box, but the place I got it at is the prop shop (not sure of name) on Highway 81 in Crystal just north of the airport. Very knowledgable people there. They told me which one I should use and I haven't looked back. Good Luck
  5. Quote: I am sold big time. I wish I could get the thing to quit beeping when I change speeds though. When it beeps both my dogs think its the beep from the invisible fence and start shaking. There is no way for them to get away from it...Other than that it rules. The way to turn off the beeping is to hold down the power up and power down button at the same time. There are 3 different modes. 1 beeps any time you push a button, another beeps every 2 seconds, and the other makes no noise at all. When you hold down the buttons you will here either 1 beep (maybe after a couple of seconds) or 2 beeps or 3 beeps. Keep holding them down and releasing after the beeps until you are in the mode you want. Good Luck.
  6. Does he have the co-pilot? If so there are 3 settings from the remote, 1 makes an audible noise only when you push buttons, 1 makes no noise at all, and the last 1 makes a repeated audible noise when the trolling motor is running. He would need to hold down the speed up and speed down buttons simulataneously (I think those 2 buttons) until he heres 1 beep, 2 beep, or 3 beeps. I think the normal mode is 1 beep, where it just makes a audible sound when you press a button. Good luck.
  7. The other thing to consider about old farms and shopping centers that once were wetlands is that when all of that was built they were built on swamps (same as a wetland, but not as nice sounding). Most of this was done prior to conservancy issues.
  8. That was me that said I use my copilot to launch my boat. I don't know why, but mine seems to have a better range than most others. I can let it go a couple of hundred feet, of course if the wind is blowing to hard I will tie it up...
  9. Bob, I understand your point, and I am going to let this be the last my voice is heard on this subject... But if we are going to do something as citizens about someone fishing early (no human harm) then we should also do something about others when they are not driving safely (possible human harm). Thanks, Adam
  10. If you want to be the person to uphold the law, become a conservation officer. Otherwise, getting all heated up about it is just going to ruin your day. I never said what they were doing was right, all I was saying is that there are alot of worse things in this world that we can all do something about then what those guys may or may not have been doing...
  11. I hate to take this on to a different plane, but here is the deal.... I am sure everyone here speeds every once in a while, maybe does a rolling stop at a sign, turns into the wrong lane when turning at intersection. Everyone brakes the law a little bit. The difference is everything you do in your car can kill someone. So these people were fishing illegally... there are worse problems in this world. Don't let it drag down your mood while on the lake. If we can't obey all the laws ourselves we have no right to point fingers at others... People that purposely fish before for a species that isn't open yet will get whats coming to them in time. Call T.I.P. and forget about it. Unless
  12. I placed an order for 1, I think it says that there are 2 in each order. I amy be wrong. But will definately post thoughts when I get them in.
  13. After reading this I ordered a set. They were 19.95 9or something like that) plus shipping. Check the price again.
  14. I'm not sure about the problems you are having, but my 2004 SportFish has never leaked anything into any of the compartments. May want to contact crestliner yourself and see what the deal is.

Gander Mountain Maple grove has received their shipment of chatterbaits today. I picked up 3 at a meager 8.00 each. They only had about 25 so get them while you can....
  19. Adding the co-pilot will not add autopilot, tell him to keeo his eyes on the classifieds here (recent 65AP powerdrive listed for 350) or hsolist. Every once in a while there is a great deal there. I will send you an e-mail for the foot controller.
  20. The autopilot will still work with one no problem. They usually go for 149.00 at most places I have seen, come with a wrist band, and 3 rod mounts. On another note, Hoffer, if you are having trouble with your foot pad, and I never use mine (just have it for emergency), I would be willing to trade with you. Let me know. I live in Elk River (used to be in Maple Grove) and work in Golden Valley so I could meet you on the way home or something.
  21. mahanna - yes, you can still use the foot pedal. Asa far as the range, mine goes for about 225 ft. Maybe it depends on where you area nd what else is interferring (sp?) with it. The other thing I like to do with it is after stowing the motor, turn it on with the co-pilot and get my fishing partner a little wet with what water is left under the prop.
  22. I absolutely love mine. I have never been able to use a pedal. But one of the best things is that when I am by myself, I can launch my boat, send it off a little with the remote, and then after parking my truck, just have it come back to me. Saves a lot of tie up time at the launch dock and leaves room for other boats getting in and out.
