Coming back...

After being skunked by the heatwave in July, I'm a comin back for another try. From the looks of things, I wouldn't get much benefit going North back to Alex/Sham vs. Waconia and Tonka (though I really liked Alex in general). I'm bringing my father this time, for his first go at Muskies. I should be adding my share to the local economy in the form of lures once again. I'll again be staying in Watertown. Should I bother with Independence and Rebecca (which is very close)?

We will be visiting Thorne Bros so pops can get a feel for the local scene from people he will think have cred immediately (because there are fly fishermen there). Hopefully they will convince him to not try to invent new wheels by Musky fishing with his Salmon and Bull Trout flies. It was pretty comical going to the local Sportsmen's Warehouse here in Portland and have him trying to find parts to make his own bucktails (having never seen one before). I can't how many times I said, "no Dad, much bigger" or, "way thicker than that, Dad, titanium even". In any case, if you see an older guy in a 14' backtroller pitching flies with a younger, taller guy pitching Suicks and shaking his head at the father, that will be us, give a holler!

And if he catches anything on those...well...(Contact Us Please). I guess I'll have to pull out the fly rod as well.

Additionally, if anyone wants to come out with us and drop some science, there'd be (at least) a free meal and beers for ya

Indy is a good choice. Holds plenty of muskies and you can hit all the spots several times in one day very easily. They are repairing/replacing the public access so that might be a problem. Tonka is still a little slow at least for me. I do not fish Rebecca.
