  1. Thought I would give an update on my experience with this auger. I purchased the auger a few weeks ago. Initial startup was great. Fired in just 3 pulls. Love the quiet idle. Took it out to the lake to drill a few holes and experienced the same issues Boker had above. Would get about halfway through 10" or ice and it would start to die. Went home a little disappointed. Finally got the auger back out on Sunday night to set the permy. Auger sat in the cold for over a week and started in 5-6 pulls. Let the motor idle and after a min or so I started to drill. The auger cut all 7 holes through 14" of ice without an issue. Was very impressed and love the fact there were no fumes in the house. Overall I am loving this auger. Light weight and no mixing fuel. A few others have commented on issues with the throttle cable but I haven't had any troubles with this.
  2. Hey everyone, This may be a dumb question but just want some clarification. I shot a deer with my bow a couple weeks ago but now I want to be able to sit in the deer stand with my girlfriend while she rifle hunts. Do I need to have a license to do this? I can only tag the one deer between the two areas. They get checked frequently and want to make sure that I am not doing anything wrong. I scanned the rule book and didnt find anything on this, but could have missed it. I will not be carrying anything but binocs. Thanks, Vex
  3. Sorry guys, should have clarified a bit. It is just a tree. The tree is right next to my deer stand and this buck had it all tore up.
  4. Walked into the woods and found this: And I left the woods with this: My "non hero" and "hero" entries.
  5. Shot this buck on Oct 20th. He came in right at sundown. Drew back as he was behind some brush 2 yards from my shooting lane. Only problem was, he decided to stay there for 10 mins. I was able to let down and regroup. He turned and walked towards another lane 8 yards away. Drew back and the Strother's let the arrow fly. 200 yards later I had my buck. Congrats to all others! Awesome deer!
  6. Hey everyone, The H/N Sportsman's Club is pround to sponsor the 3rd annual Mitchell Kleindl Memorial 3D Archery Shoot April 21-22. Sat 8am to 5pm, and Sun 8am to 3pm. This shoot is a memorial for Mitchell Kleindl. Mitchell was killed in a tragic farm accident July 15, 2009 at the age of 13. He had such a great love for bowhunting and 3D shooting that we deciced to have a shoot in his memory and try and pass his love on to others. The shoot will be held at Neimackl Lake Park 4 miles south of Herman, MN and 16 miles north of Morris, MN on Hwy 9. There will be 40 targets with 4 stakes: Youth, Traditional, Compound, and toughman team. Cost will be $15 for individual, $30 for team, and $30 for a family. All money will go towards the continuation of this shoot. Concessions available on site. Thank you.
  7. I moved my house Sunday afternoon and had 11 inches of good ice.
  8. Picture taken west of Alexandria, MN. This house was 40 yards north of mine last night. I was lucky enough to get mine off. I have heard of 5 houses going down in Grant County, MN. With these warm temps and high winds lots of things can happen in a short period of time! Be safe out there!
  9. Hey guys, I just moved up to Fargo, ND for work and was wondering if anyone knows of an indoor league during the winter months? I am certainly no pro but I do love to shoot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  10. I am in the market for a new phone and am debating on the RAZR or waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Does anyone have any information on this or recommendations? I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and am hoping that with the Nexus there will be more functionality bewteen the two. Also, do you any of you know when the Nexus will be released? Thank you.
  11. I heard the same thing. Also heard they will be moving to Melrose.
  12. I have searched and couldn't find a post on this. I have a 2001 Mercery 125 and am in the market for a new starting battery. This battery will also run my LCX 19, 522, and livewell, bilge, etc. Not all of these will be on at the same time. Just wondering what battery you guys would recommend? What CCA's or RC does a guy want for this use? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  13. Thank you all for your responses. Helped calm some nerves. I put the muffs on yesterday and started it up and there was a stream coming out so I am hoping everything is okay. I plan on changing the impeller just to be safe. Thanks again for the help.
