  1. Leeches can be kept all summer long with no problems as long as they are stored properly. I change my water at least every day or 2 and keep them in a leech bag. I heard from a expert bait guy that leeches need to rub the slime off their bodies to stay healthy. They do this in the wild with gravel, weeds...ect and the leech bag seems to act in the same matter. Ive tried the bedding products and th eleeches seem to loose their size and are not as active vs storage in water with no chemicals. Tap water will slowly zap their strenght, size and eventually kill them. Cheers!!
  2. Whats a good scale and way to manage your weights in your livewells when its tournament time? Whats are some good tips for handling walleye in livewells to reduce stress and deaths. Cheers!!
  3. When you put two 12 volt batteries together you have to conect positive to negative correct? Maybe this is my problem Im new to this big boat stuff, Ive always had simple 14 fters
  4. I have 2 Trojan batteries for my 65 auto pilot and was wondering how long I should be getting for use if Im running then at 1.5-2 mph. I was out the other day and only got about 4.5 hours of run time, mind you I was pulling blades at about 1.8 mph with no wind to help, is this normal? Cheers!!
  5. I would go with some Fireline being its solely for multi purpose. 10-14 will still be pretty thin diameter using fireline and pretty good for all applications. I use fireline, Berkley Vanish, Berkley Trilene XT even some Wal-Mart line, all in different lb test for different applications.
  6. I picked a Crucial 7'6 for my lindy rod and absolutly love it (took the advice from board members here). I prefer it over the St. Croix I Avid I have used and is a reasonable price compared to a high end G. Loomis. Like other members have mentioned it all what feels right for you, test them out as best as you can in the shop or use a buddies and make your choice. Cheers!!
  7. I lost my manual w/ the paint codes for my boat but was wondering if they still make touch up paint for the blue and gold/bronze 1800 Fisherman's?? Does Lund have any that I can purchase? Cheers!!
  8. Im looking for a rod for bottom bouncing specific and wondering what you guys reccomend in length and I assume in med? I use spin reels and am looking to spend around $150-200. Cheers!!
  9. I had an Lund SSV 14 and bought a Lund 1800 Fisherman, if you can, get the biggest your budget can handle. We can have the entire family on the boat, walking around and it doesnt even move...I love it, especially going from my 14 ft tinner
  10. Lindy rig because I can get lots of walleye and perch.
  11. I was out yesterday, cloudy overcast, cool and between me and my bro inlaw we had 39 walleye, 1 pike and a sucker. This was an early season best for me I used to only go out on nice days but now that I enter tournaments I have to learn to deal with all sorts of weather.
  12. Well Im running the 7'6 Crucial with a Quantum Catalyst PTI Spin reel. Ive got 6 lb. Trilene XT on one spool and FireLine Crystal 6 lb on the other. I would like to go to 4 lb but there are so many pike that take rigs I like a bit heavier line. Im really amazed at the difference between my old quantum rod and this Crucial, its like night and day difference. I really like the 7'6 length as I usually fish in the front of my 1800 Fisherman and it gets it away from the boat and tangles in the prop. My next upgrade will be switching my Shimano Convergence 7' bottom bouncer rod, which I broke the tip on from a slammed door to a another Crucial or possibly a G Loomis GL 2. Cheers!!
  13. After testing many different rods I picked up a Shimano Crucial 7"6 with the cut out cork handle. Its really sweet and managed to go for an evening fish on my boat and landed 2 soft biting walleye. Im really happy with it and appreciate all the advice. Cheers!!
  14. Im looking for a rigging rod, Ive got the rest covered. Cheers!!
  15. Im looking for a new live bait rod, something that is decent quality. I was using a 7' Quantum Retroflex Med/fast and liked it but was thinking on a St. Croix Avid or Quantuum Tour edition PT in a 7' or 7'6. What would you live bait experts reccomend on a walleye rod? G. Loomis rods aren't in the budget either but something in the $150-$200 cnd. range. Cheers!!
