My family is coming to the Cable area in July and was wondering if there is anyplace to rent pontoon to fish out of or shorefishing oppurtunities (not planning on bring boat. any info appriciated. my email if you don't want to many people to know about spots and places is angler903@yahoo.com.

what do you think of the proposed jump for federal duck stamp? A bill was introduced to raise the stamp price from $15 to $25 by 2007 to $35 by 2015. I don't see me paying that much to hunt. How many would still be able to afford duck hunting at that price? I have only shot 2 ducks a year the past 2 years. If people are complaining about how many ducks they have seen and shot the past few years, how is the government thinking that there is enough people that will pay that price. Maybe I don't hunt ducks as much as I use to but after the first week I drive around and don't see any. Just want to see your views? I just don't see raising the price that much is going to sell stamps.

Making the yearly trip to the rodeo and thought about bring the boat. Anything happening on Clear, Alice, Cocrane, or anyother area lake. I've caught northerns from shore on Clear before. Any info would be appeciated.

I was there on Friday, the signs haven't changed from last years dates. The rodeo falls on the last week in June so go from there. Tried fishing on northwest side nothing, last year caught some nice pike by the boat ramp in April. I've gone to the rodeo there for twenty years (25 if you don't subtract college and work). Keep in touch I might bring my boat this year.

I purchased my tab on monday feeling like I lost another important notice, so I gave them my registration number at the court house. Next day got my renewal in mail. Why can't they get competent workers for state employees??? My sister took gun training in August and got her card from the state in mid September, went to get her a deer license in November and she wasn't in the computer yet so multiple calls and 3 days later she finally gets it. Tax dollars in good use

I have a charcoal smoker and have tried smoking carp and other fish, not work so well, can't keep it hot enough. I'd like some pointers on brine I use salt but doesn't do it for me. any ratios and other ingredients to try? I had smoked goose one time and want to try to do it my self along with duck.

30 inch eye Where are you from? Must be in southern Minn. I live in the southwest part of state 6 miles north of the Minnesota river.

In southern part of state you can't ride in ditches betweeen April 1 to August 1. Wish people couldn't mow ditches in that time frame, mowing ruins more habitat in ditches than ATVs

Since no one replyed I thought no one fish this lake. THe water level is way down but still caught a good number of large & smallmouth bass off the shore and one catfish.

Going on vacation next thursday for a week and a half. Plan on staying at Angostura and was wondering what type of fish are there and if it is possible to rent boat?

went to clear caught 3 northerns and left. Had enough to eat and some fun, caught all 3 with in 30 minute of each other. heard they bite real good between noon and 4pm. they were 3-7#. how do you get to cochrane from clear lake??

Anyone fish either lake I've caught a northern in the summer at clear (by town with same name). just wandering if there is a place to try and method for pike or 'eyes maybe perch?

I own a 01 Bayou, only vehicle I've bought new. I was worried about all time 4x4, but it makes a ride injoyable and keeps me from using execessive speed (I had a talk with a roommate about riding abnoxiously, he died a year later in an ATV accident). People would see a new guy riding (me) with the group and wished they stuck with a bayou. I'm a big person and that 300 lets me keep up with everone up some hills. I love it.

We are looking at using a county park southwest of town. Should be able to find ample fishing areas, we may have a kids division. All this is just in talk, plan, and interest stages.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a fishing contest on the Minnesota River. I'm a member of The Sacred Heart Jaycee's and it was brought up, that we should look into a contest open to rough and gamefish. Never know what will be caught. Any interest???

I live in southwest part of state and just curious were this park is and how much is it to play. Not, much here for playing, we have a county park but don't know how long that will last. Is there a site that tells where atv's are aloud? Just wandering, I'm seeing more and more tracks in road ditches (I take them everyonce in awhile), what is the law? A friend says it is illegal, but with all the tracks it must not be enforced much.
