  1. With the $'s being almost = do we need to convert some funds for miscellaneous purchases as in the past or is everyone accepting either currency as equal? Also I see where dog food is listed as not able to cross the border. Is this the "wet" canned food or all (including dry - kibble type)food? My pooch has a bit of a sensitive system (amazing to me for a Lab) and eats a combo of dry foods that I'm guessing won't be found at Gills in Sioux Narrows. Thanks for any info.

  3. MinnKota PowerDrive 70lbs. thrust with AutoPilot, Universal Sonar (includes Vexilar Connector), 60" shaft and foot pedal. Came with new boat last June, only used 10-12 times through October - like new. $750.00. Reply on site or: Call 612-859-0141.
  4. Yeah I thru the old plug out since several weeks elapsed between taking old one out & putting new one in. Did the gas & filter thing. That's what's driving me nuts - it started on 1st or 2nd pull with old plug in.!?
  5. Have a Honda lm. I started her up early spring & ran fine. Decided to replace the spark plug. Got identical plug, gaped it to .030 & now won't start. After numerous pulls & waiting a bit she did fire & run for about 10-20 sec. then died & wouldn't restart. Any ideas? Bad plug? Try different gaps? I'm stumped.
  6. I've got the 1850 w/ a 150 Suzuki 4 strk. It's got all the power, speed, hole shot I ever look for. I'm not a speed demon but she gets me moving +/- 45-48 mph which is plenty for me. Can troll w/ it down to 1.6-1.8 mph. Super quiet & never a burp as far as starting or smooth running. Had a Suzuki 140 on previous boat - loved it so much that's why I stuck with brand on this boat. I kind o' laugh at comments re is 150 enough to ski behind. Maybe I'm just an old fart but grew up around boats back in the day when a 75 was huge & 35 - 50 the norm. Pulled skiers just fine with those, mounted on big heavy tubs. I think on the larger motors (150+) the correct prop is as important as H.P. when considering performance.
  7. I've got the My Wedge on a 1850 Ranger w/ 150 hp Suzuki. I questioned it at time o' purchase & got this: transom saver is misleading term. The mechanic, who's also a tournament fisherman, says the transoms are built to take a lot more than what the motors going to give it bouncing down the road. His thought was that you torque on the transom much more zipping accross the rollers on the water than going down the road. His opinion is it's really there to protect your hydraulics. What's the most likely catastrophic thing to have happen going down the road. Getting rear ended?? Your lower unit is probably toast with either product but your hydraulics are probably saved w/ the My Wedge. Been working so far for me & a lot easier to put on when getting boat ready.
  8. Thanks for the info guys - AND the heads up to steer clear of LaSalle (wherever that is).
  9. Come on guys. Is there anyone from Illinois that actually trolls this board????? I've gotten more action on my bucktails this year...
  10. I've got a Rule manually switched bilge pump. After almost losing the boat after a 6" overnight rain, I'm wondering what it would take to convert or change this out to a manual / auto pump. Can you add a float switch to the one I've got or change out the unit by replacing the "head" or "cartridge". Any thoughts?
  11. Minnesota boy needs help re: whether a real estate transaction requires a real estate agent or lawyer to be involved by state law. I know states differ on this. Am dealing with a family issue. Thanks for any replies.
  12. Sold my 140 suzuki with the boat this past spring. Everything was in great shape except for a scratch in the black motor cover which always bugged me. It got there from a friend raising the motor with the butt seat installed at rear of boat. Was happy to get a new pretty black motor on the new rig with NO scratches. Needless to say - was out this weekend, had butt seat in & my son raised motor to get line out o' prop. Yep - new scratch!! Any way to fill, paint or anything to get rid of or hide the scratch?? Even a little bit so my eyes won't zoom right in on it every time I look in that direction? Thanks.
  13. Was up yesterday 7/23. Fished Walters in A.M. (only 1 bite / fish landed on trolled crank). Switched to real fish in the P.M. Could only handle the heat / sweat for 1 - 1 1/2 hours but saw 5 fish in that time. Mid 40's to high 30's. Pretty impressive for short time frame.
  14. I'm heading to LOW - Sioux Narrows end o' the month for our annual 2 week fam. vacation. We fish Walters for some table fare but I'm primarily targeting toothy creatures for serious fun. My 8 yo daughter is pretty good fisherperson for walters & bass with a jig or bobber but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on an outfit I can rig her up with to throw some small/medium bucktales & spoons while I'm casting for said muskys. Thinking I'd frustrate her trying to teach her how to throw with a baitcaster but don't know if the old Zebco closed face will handle a potential large fish. Any thoughts?
