We usually fish the east side of the lake working that entire bay just out form the public landing.

There are very few lakes near hammond. The only one worth fishing, that is close, is Pine lake north of Baldwin. You will find some nice pan fish here. The bite has slowed down in the past week or so but if you go there in the afternoon just before dark, you should do all right. Fish away from the shacks and commotion. Noise will spook these fish. Try to fish 15-18 fow and use small glow jigs with waxies. A vexlar is a must. Spring bobber as well. They bite very light. Some times you don't even know you have one on. You can also give Glen Lake in Spring Valley a try but that's pushing 20 miles. Scottski ScottSki

I have been to Yellow three times this year with some pretty good success so far. Biggest eye we have caught is 25", smallest so far has been 16.5". The fish in this lake are very healthy. One 17" eye will fill me up just fine. We usually get 3-5 northerns in an afternoon and 3-5 eye's depending on how many guys are fishing. Use small shiners for eye's. Make sure to fish until at least 7:00 PM. The best bite has been after dark. Fish the very edge of the weeds or even a bit into them, 4 - 6 fow. This has proven to be the most successful for us. If fishing starts at 9 am, what time would you figure on needing to be at the lodge to register. Are they expecting a large crowd?
