Two weeks till the ice opener!

I just got one and had it out for the first time today. It was awesome the surface of the lake was all wet so i could just plop the transducer down on the ice to get a depth. In the morning I just had a water bottle to squirt the ice so I could check depths. It also worked great fishing with it after the holes were drilled.

Where are you hearing this? I've been hearing that it's looking like the mild temps and dry are for another few weeks.

My Girlfriend got me two nights in a sleeper up on Mille Lacs. It's during the week and she even checked with my boss to make sure I could get the time off.

Hey HandGunner, Did you get any holes drilled? How many inches were there? Anybody else out there?

I have a question for whoever has an answer. I was out there today for a few hours before sunset. Didn't catch anything but that's beside the point. I left about 20 minutes after sunset because the park technically closes 30 min after sunset. There were still a hand full of houses out there, on of which just came out before I left. Can you fish later into the night without getting hassled? Are the park hour rules a little looser in the winter?

5 dollar car pass for a day or 25 for a year. It is walk on only. The park is open from 5 AM to 1/2 hour after sunset.

That's me sitting on the bucket in that second picture. It was my first year out there. Fished for about 3 hours. I only caught one 11" rainbow at sunup. Me and my buddy are thinking about going out on Friday around 12:30.
