  1. That snapping sound is found with most flashers that I have used. I guess you just have to leave them in the hole!!! If something keeps you from enjoying your outing, I can totally understand not wanting it. Good luck fishing!!!
  2. Where might a guy find some Reel weeds? As far as the tri-pod goes, it sounds great. Last year on Mille Lacs I had a makeshift cable holder that consisted of a bucket and some banked up snow, but out there the perch had no problem with the camera. In fact, they seemed to be attracted to it. Thanks again for the replies, its been a great help!!! W.P.
  3. Everyone, thanks for the tips. The weed wrap sounds like a great idea. Good luck all!
  4. Emerald shiners have always worked well for our groups on LOW, but I have found that puting an extra shiner on the jig is often successfull. The last time we were up there we left the oxy bag of shiners in the back of the truck and the water got too cold. All of the shiners were belly-up, but when we warmed them back up they livened up.
  5. I have an Aquaview Scout and was wondering what some good techniqes could be for use in catching walleyes. I tend to have trouble with it spooking fish, and also with rotating the camera to keep it on my jig. I have not bought the tri-pod and was also wondering if it is worth it. Anything anyone could tell me would be great. Thanks, WP
  6. There is never s sure-fire technique for checking if ice is safe. The best thing to do is researching with other local fisherman on ice thickness. One must always be aware of the latest weather trends such as high temperatures and wind, or rain. A good precautionary measure when heading out on the ice is to wear a life preserver and putting nails or ice grippers in your pocket. This makes crawling out of a hole easier. Just remember that fishing is great, but no fish is worth a life. Good luck, and be safe.
  7. I have seen guys put them on top of their vehicles when racks are present, but it takes two and a step ladder to get them down.
  8. I get sick of the fumes, and i like light wherever i look so a headlamp is the way for me. I like the CAT'S EYES by NASCHEM they clip to a baseball cap and are relativly inexpensive. Just don't look your buddy in the eye cause blindness is worse than darkness! Keep em tight and good fishing
  9. I like the post, very thought out. Personally i have an FL18, and have been very happy with it, except that latley my bottom readout has been jumpy. The lake bottom on the zoom feature occasionally jumps to a foot or too off of the grid. My battery power is good and its not too cold. If i flip it off and then on again it usually fixes the problem. Does anyone else see this happen. Other than that i love my FL18, but i have never used any other brand. Good luck fishing
