When do you have your boat winterized?

We are going to bring it in to have it winterized. I just don't know enough yet to chance it. So we need to remove the batteries? We have three of them. Will they take them out before they shrink wrap them or do we? I plan to fish as much as I can up until the ice comes in. I pay enough for the boat, I want to use it as much as I can. -
This is our first year with our new boat. When do you typically bring it in for it to be winterized? I want to try to get as much use out of it if I can.

CNN.com reported that it is likely we will see $4.00 per gallon within the next six months. When will it end?

I guess am looking for options at this point. I don't want to pay more than my boat payment to store it but I don't expect it to be free either. I would like to have it be safe.
