Tuesday Night Tournament

Lake  Osakis

5/29/12

I did not get to pre-fish for this local tournament. My tournament partner Roy Good did some pre-fishing and warned me that the fishing had gone from tough to tougher….

On the night of the tournament we had to deal with extremely rough weather, with high winds and very cold temperatures. Water temps had dropped to the high 50’s. I had to wear my Artic Armor jacket (for ice fishing) to stay warm.  Because of the weather nasty weather only 9-boats showed up.

The tournament runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and has a 4-fish limit.

We could only muster 3-measure fish and 2-short fish, in those 3.5 hours of fishing.  During the course of the tournament we dropped an additional 3-measure fish.

The majority of our fish came out of new growth pencil reeds on swim jigs and swim baits.

We ended up finishing in 6th place.
