The Summer Bite is on across the country for Trophy Bass on Off-Shore structures and many giant fish abound suspending across main lake basin areas. The bite window time increments have moved forward, although a short dusk and dawn time frame for big fish still exists.
Ideal Time for Catching Summer Pelagic Bass
Prime time for the largest fish in the system occur from 11:30 pm through 3:00 AM and the last 45 minute bite window happens at 4:00 AM til around 5:00 AM. Target these specific bite windows for Largemouth, Smallies, Walleyes and Muskies on waters that have the gene pool to hold multi-species giants. Although many fish relate to both off-shore structures and suspend at variuos depths throughout the entire water column, wake-baits and topwater baits produce well during specific time frames.
Strolling off-shore basins with various baits including, swimbaits, swim jig combos, deep running cranks and a variety of productive baits for the specific waters you fish will trigger bites from some of the largest fish in any systems you target. Certain subtle intracacies in bottom contours will hold big fish. Paying astute attention to bottom contour details with your electronics will put you on some giant fish.
The Summer pelagic night bite has produced well for me for more than five decades. Take advantage of this prime time to boat possibly the heaviest fish of your lifetime.
