Looking to take my girl out fishing for the first time. I'm not much of a sport Fisher anymore. Any places in Minnetonka that hold the most carp? Plan to toss out a line with corn and just set it to the side while I teach my girl. Access friendly, no Rocky edges and hard to access areas. I'm thinking the bike path down to the bridge over at browns bay could hold a lot of carp since it's mostly cat tails. Plus the bridge has nice flat rocks that we can get down on easily with room and space to have a nice set up for a few hours to fish.

A few years ago I caught a few koi and goldfish from a metro lake. Seems like they have all been fished out now :-( Have any of you caught Mirror Carp in the metro lakes? If so, could you share your experience/location? I mainly fish the rivers but am always looking to catch mirrors. I've seen a couple caught in the river, but have never had luck catching them myself. Please PM me . Am sure we can trade some fishing spots as well.

A friend and I are looking to get hooked up with people in the S Metro area to go bowfishing with. We are moderately experienced and have all the gear except a boat. We frequently travel to Hastings to fish with a friend, but would love to find someone closer to home for those nights that we don't want to commute out there. Experienced in both shooting and spotting, and can also pilot a boat with no problem. Will help cover fuel costs. Throwing this out there because we've rarely ever seen anyone in the S metro area (Prior Lake, Savage, Burnsville, Shakopee, Lakeville, etc) out bowfishing at night, but I know there has to be someone out there who does.

Decided to hit up a north metro river spot yesterday. I've been whipping up mysterious carp attractants for a while (wife is not happy about it) and it was time to try them out. 2 rods. 2.5 hours. Rod 1: 1 carp 22 inches ( about 8-10 lbs) Rod 2: Hooked 7 carp. Landed 5 between 10-18lbs. One broke off 30 lb mono, though am pretty sure it hit the rocks. Was a blast. I was worried that the carp would be in breeding mode and not feeding, but all the fish looked a little skinny. Maybe the breeding is done..?
