Luvsoutdoors
Where can you buy this?? Everywhere I've looked they have the high nitrogen formula. Do you buy the iron separately and mix it in?? I want to build root system not above ground growth. Thanks
hotrod1
Mine is a Lesco product. You may be able to go to a feed store and ask them to make the blend for you.
LwnmwnMan2
By the time you go to a feed store and ask them for a blend, it'll probably cost as much as either having a bag or two shipped, or picking up some if you make a trip to the cities.10-0-20 isn't the magical blend, just be aware that there are other blends of fertilizers out there that aren't 25+ in the Nitrogen column, and make sure there's an amount of slow release in the fertilizer, usually sulfur or urea coated. This is what keeps your fertilizer feeding the turf for over a period of time, whereas a straight ag fertilizer has minimal if any slow release to it, which will give you a huge surge of fertilizer for a short period of time (2 weeks +/-) and then nothing again.Hotrod is right, that the product that he uses is from a company called Lesco, although last year they were bought out by John Deere Landscapes. If you go to the one in White Bear Lake and tell Gary you're from FishingMinnesota, he's willing to give you a discount. If you do a search for either Lesco or John Deere Landscapes, you can get the HSOforum which will tell you the locations.
