buckhunter21
Found another couple of pounds today. Im up to around 7 or 8 pounds this year, they are really starting to pop up here in central mn. They should really peak this week after a few warm days.

Wiskers
Well with all this talk about the Morels, I just had to go check it out.. Never did that before. This was what I got in about an hour just for me. My buddy got the other half. We hit pay dirt in two spots I guess. It was fun, but getting home and cleaning that many was not so fun. leech~~
fnord, nice! Shrooming at night? That's a new one! This heat has shut my production down! I'm going to have to try moving up north this weekend!
south_metro_fish
I tried a spot today and it was all way way to dry. To bad we didn't have a good soaking rain before all this heat.
jeff127
I hear ya, most of my go to spots dried up too fast with the lack of rain and continuous wind. Another 3/4 of an inch of rain would have made all the difference. Did find enough to keep me happy though---most of the bigger patches I found were near water. Without any rain in the near future I think the season is pretty much done for me......it goes way too fast.jeff
crazyice
I still managed to find a few nice ones last night here in SE MN. 16 to be exact, in less than 45 minutes of looking, that's all the time I had by the time I got off work, and drove to the spot before it got too dark. lovebigbluegills
Around the Thief River Falls area, I found a few "keepers" last night, and quite a few small ones that need to grow for a few more days.
leech~~
Well I checked about 5-6 spots from a few miles above Cross Lake down about 5 miles below this past weekend. Nothing! I think it's way to dry! Not really seening any other mushrooms growing either! Come on rain!
MOBY RICHARD*
Last weekend I finally found a few, 2 regular size and 6 jumbo, though not as big as the biggest ones above...I left the one regular for a day and it grew a little, then watered it and the next day it had grown a fair amount more...then decided to pick it before it got sniped...It is too dry, hoping to find a few more this weekend though...Mn Hwy 95, Cambridge to Taylors Falls area... leech~~
Moby, watering? Huum never thought about that if you had a spot all to yourself it may help! Good Luck this weekend. WE NEED RAIN! P.S how many ticks did you find? 8 last weekend for me!

P.S how many ticks did you find? 8 last weekend for me! Oh yeah, I forgot the tick count...I have been staying out of the worst tick areas the last couple years, so I only had about a dozen...of course there is always that one that starts crawling around under your clothes when you're driving in traffic... Burchoid
I've been trying to train my dog to sniff out morels. Each time I find one, I have him sniff it, then I give him one of his favorite treats. He hasn't found one yet, but I'm hoping after a year or two he will figure it out.Anyways, each time I've come home this year I've picked about 20-30 ticks off him. MOBY RICHARD*
You need to train a pig, like they do for Truffles...only be careful or they will eat them all...the Morels that is, not the ticks...
hitthebricks
Was out in search of the infamous Moerel for the first time ever last weekend around Knife lake, I think it's way to dry, I never even found a shroom of any kind. I did find a old farm dump with a pair of old Desalle engine hoods and fushed a easy 500 woodys and malards on avery small pothole next to the dump. Also, Knife did produce a nice bunch of crappies off the docks and a few eyes with very little effort. HTB

I will meet you at the small pothole to show you how to find them. Let me know where to meet you then! Oh and don't forget to wear reed camo, we don't want anyone to see where their at! MOBY RICHARD*
Well too dry even with the few sprinkles...Did find some Oyster and Sulphur shelves though...Ate some of the Oyster, first time ever...a little more fibrous than other shrooms, so have to cook slow a little longer...but very good...Will try the Sulphur today... leech~~
hit, I just got back in to hunting the birds last season after about 15 years. Now have all the things needed again after selling them all off, deeks, boat, camo, no dog so have wadders instead! Look me up around Oct, if you need another gun to go with. I am a DNR gun safey instructor so you shouldn't have to worry to much about getting shot!!
